In 1994, Jim Ray retired from dairy farming after working with Holsteins for 40 years.  But Jim just had to have some cattle in his life.  So he turned to beef.

Jim knew the look of a Hereford just wasn’t going to cut it.  Simmentals filled the gap, but they weren’t quite right either.

Enter Pinzgauers—A breed as beautiful as it is versatile.  As soon as Jim saw the first one in a neighbor’s pasture, he knew:  This was the breed for him.

Two years later, Jim bought his first purebreds at a Minnesota auction. One of those—Pansy—has become one of the stars of the herd, with four daughters, four granddaughters and one great-granddaughter still in his herd.

As soon as they were made available, Pansy’s last three daughters sold for show.  Most noteworthy is Jarrae KC Precious, 2006 World Beef Expo Grand Champion.

Now working toward a Polled Fullblood herd, all purebred and percentage young stock are available.  Please check the "For Sale" page to see what we have for you right now.
